The past winter in my neighborhood was a disaster for the forests. Unrestrained cutting of trees on privately owned lands went on unceasingly (weather permitting) throughout the winter. The government, of course, keeps saying that Latvia is one of the "greenest'' countries in the world. True, if grey and drab is what you think is green also.
How the urban banks, once bailed out by the ECB, collect the debt from nature
by way of  private land owners.
